News - 06 July 2026

Have Your Say on SEND Services in Wirral
Parents, carers, children and young people across Wirral are being invited to take part in the Annual SEND Survey 2026 and share their experiences of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services. The survey aims to build a clearer picture of what is working well, where improvements are needed, and what matters most to local families.
The survey has been developed by Wirral’s Local Area SEND Partnership and co-produced with families, children and young people to help ensure the questions reflect real experiences and priorities. There are two surveys available: one for parents and carers, and one for children and young people with SEND.
Feedback gathered through the survey will be used to help organisations understand how local SEND services are working and where further improvements may be needed. All responses will be read and analysed, with findings shared on the SENDLO website and used to help shape future planning and service development.
The survey is open until 20 July 2026 and asks people to reflect on their experiences over the last 12 months. People can also access paper copies and Easy Read versions through the survey page. All questions are optional.
FAQs
What is the Annual SEND Survey 2026?
The Annual SEND Survey 2026 is a chance for parents, carers, children and young people in Wirral to share their experiences of SEND services and say what is working well, what is not working well, and what matters most to them and their families.
Who is the survey for?
There are two surveys: one for parents and carers, and one for children and young people with SEND.
Who developed the survey?
The survey has been developed by Wirral’s Local Area SEND Partnership, which brings together organisations from education, health and care. Both surveys have also been co-produced with families, children and young people.
Why should people take part?
Taking part gives families and young people the opportunity to share their experiences directly and help shape future improvements to SEND services in Wirral. The feedback will help show what is working, where more improvement is needed and whether local changes are being felt by families.
How long is the survey open for?
The survey is open for 12 weeks and will close on 20 July 2026.
What time period should responses cover?

Are there other formats available?
Yes. People can access paper copies and Easy Read versions through the survey page.
If a parent or carer has more than one child with SEND, do they need to complete more than one survey?

Can children and young people get help to complete the survey?
Yes. Children and young people can be supported to complete their survey. The guidance asks that, where support is given, responses should reflect the child or young person’s own views.
