Welcome to a special Carers BRIDGE Forum from Healthwatch Wirral, featuring insights from health, care, and community representatives working together to strengthen local services.
This BRIDGE Forum focused on hearing the voices of Carers who support people with additional mental health needs, and sharing what support is available to them in Wirral.

Healthwatch Wirral and CWP are working together to better understand and support unpaid Carers of people with mental health needs.
What are the challenges for Carers in Wirral?
In the BRIDGE Forum, some of the challenges raised included:
- Limited communication due to data protection
- Risk of crisis or breakdown
- Misinformation regarding AI
- Need for clearer pathways, especially for young Carers, neurodivergent families, and multicultural communities
What support is available?
Support options are available for Carers who support people with additional mental health needs including:
- Mental health information booklets
- The Hub of Hope app
- Local Whatsapp updates to connect Carers with services ([email protected] for more information)
- Wirral Carers Alliance Carers Conference – 8th June, 10am-7pm, Eureka in Seacombe
- Wirral Carers Alliance weekly drop in – Wed 10am-3pm, Greasby Library
- Wired UK: Wirral-based organisation supporting Carers
