Primary Care Services provided at TG Medical Centre in West Kirby

Jan 16, 2019 | News

TG Medical has been providing primary care services at TG Medical Centre since 1st October 2013, the contract was time limited and due to expire on 31st March 2019. NHS commissioners have been seeking a provider to continue delivering the services from 1st April 2019.  Following a recent procurement process, Marine Lake Medical Practice has been appointed as the new provider of primary care medical services at TG Medical Centre.

NHS England (Cheshire and Merseyside) and NHS Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are responsible for the contracts for all General Practice services across Wirral as joint commissioners of these services.  It is the aim of commissioners to ensure that all communities have access to the highest quality GP services possible.

NHS England’s aim is to ensure that patients are not affected by the change of provider and NHS England (Cheshire and Merseyside), NHS Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), TG Medical and Marine Lake Medical Practice are working together to make the transition as smooth and easy as possible.

A local online website has incorrectly reported that TG Medical Centre will be closing and that patients will be required to register with another practice. This is not the case and the media organisation has been asked to rectify the reporting.

NHS England want to assure you that TG Medical Centre is not closing and there is no requirement for patients to re-register with another practice, services will continue to be provided at TG Medical Centre by Marine Lake Medical Practice.

NHS England are very keen to work with you to ensure that they get this right for the local community and will ensure that you are kept informed when more detailed information is available.

NHS England are committed to open and regular communications throughout the process to ensure all stakeholders are informed and up to date.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact Sara Smith, Primary Care Contract Manager on [email protected].
