Patient Led Assessment of Care Environment (PLACE)

Once again Healthwatch Wirral were delighted to be asked by Wirral University Teaching Hospital, Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Springview, Spire Murrayfield & Wirral Hospice to help gather volunteers to take part in their Patient Led Assessment of Care Environment. This involves local people visiting each site and taking part in an assessment of the care environment (not clinical standards or the work of staff). You don’t need to be an expert, just a member of the public with an interest who wishes to help ensure the best standards for patients. However, You will need a Healthwatch  induction and some basic training to take part in PLACE assessments.

We asked our staff and volunteers if they would like to be involved in the PLACE visits for 2016 and they said, YES!

The following volunteers /staff took part in the following PLACE visits;

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Elaine Evans & Mary Rutter

Wirral University Teaching Hospital (2 Sites)

Arrowe Park Site – Marilyn Wallace & Mary Rutter

Clatterbridge site – Kirsty Maton & Tricia Harrison

Wirral Hospice – Diane Hill & Tricia Harrison

 Spire Murrayfield- Elaine Evans

 Springview – Jo McCourt &  Mike Sowden

 If you would like to be involved in next year’s PLACE visits then please register your interest with Healthwatch Wirral and we can inform you when we receive the dates.
