Healthwatch Wirral Community Engagement Update – Enhanced GP Access

Jul 28, 2022 | News, Newsletter

Healthwatch Wirral have been engaging with the public around enhanced GP access which will be offered at practices from October.

GP practices may be open evenings and Saturdays to offer more appointments. They will also be offering additional clinics such as blood tests, physio etc, and some people may be offered appointments at other practices too. This will hopefully help people who are struggling to get an appointment with a health professional.

In order to hear the public’s thoughts we have visited Bidston, Bromborough and Heswall.

We are also asking people on social media and visiting GP Practices/pharmacies etc to engage with staff to ask how they feel about the enhanced hours. The findings will be reported to decision makers and will be available on our website as soon as possible.

The weather has been a bit challenging but we are lucky to be under shade and kept hydrated well.

Many thanks to Asda Bromborough, Tesco Heswall and Bidston for accommodating our Healthwatch RV, and to Abi and Jen from the Council’s Qualitative Insights Team for joining us!
