  • No change in terms of access to services but will see change over time – focus on keeping people well
  • No need to worry about monkeypox – no cases on Wirral, existing smallpox vaccine can be delivered to isolated cases

Julian Eyre, Healthy Wirral Programme Director and Paul Charnley, Digital Lead – Digital Strategy

Key messages

  • Digital Strategy is one part of Healthy Wirral’s work
  • We need data to understand health inequalities across the Wirral and to make sure services are provided where they are needed
  • Building a shared record so that info can be shared across health and social care – but opt-out is possible
  • Digital inclusion is an important part of this – digital exclusion in Wirral maps onto life expectancy

Gill Pryce, Wirral Menopause Community

Key messages

Gary Pickering, Community Pharmacy Cheshire & Wirral

Key messages

  • Some HRT products are in short supply due to increased demand and post-pandemic disruption to global supply chains
  • Serious Shortage Protocols give pharmacists power to make substitutions where the patient agrees; prescriptions may currently be limited to 3 months at a time to ensure more people can access
  • Govt is looking at changes to prescription charges which can disproportionately affect women using HRT
  • If ordering products online, be aware of scammers – only order from reputable suppliers based in UK

Sallie Taylor and Nikki Barker, Koala NW – Family Toolbox

Key messages

  • Family Toolbox has now been launched: https://familytoolbox.co.uk/ with resources and support for families and carers
  • Families can create a profile to save resources they have found useful but this data is not shared anywhere

Melissa Royle, WUTH – Urgent and Emergency Care Upgrade Programme

Key messages

  • Work has now started at Arrowe Park to merge Urgent Treatment Centre and A&E – patients will be streamed to appropriate place
  • There should be minimal disruption to patients as there is a robust phasing plan in place, along with signage and volunteers onsite
