The purpose of this meeting is to share regular information across all sectors, identify issues encountered and discuss how we can work collaboratively in a connected and integrated way to help improve the pathways into services for Wirral residents.

Mike Chantler – Wirral CCG
Key Messages:
- New programme to support people waiting for elective surgery – how do we support people to ‘wait well’ and prevent deterioration?
- CCG currently considering final proposals on redevelopment of Arrowe Park A&E to improve patient and staff experience
- Integrated Care Board structural changes – will allow council and NHS to work more closely together on strategic planning and address health inequalities not just through health care but through housing, employment etc
- COVID vaccine supply issues have been resolved and work is underway to make it part of routine vaccination programme
Sarah Cowell – WCHC – Two Hour Crisis Response Service
Key messages:
- Two Hour Response Crisis Response Service will provide assessment within 2 hours and support the same day or next day for adults at risk of hospital admission with a range of health issues
- Operates 8am-8pm 365 days a year – multidisciplinary team
- Professionals can refer in via Teletriage; self-referrals via NHS 111

- Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) is a comprehensive review of pharmacy provision on the Wirral; currently asking for public feedback on the draft to see if anything is missing

- North West Ambulance Service:
- In a difficult position over the Easter bank holiday but did cope quite well – very well-prepared
- Demand starting to increase again
- Changes to IPC guidance coming in allowing for more dynamic risk assessments
- Wirral University Teaching Hospital:
- Patient Experience Strategy – Promise Groups – Welcome, Safe, Inclusive, Supported, Care
- Want to work in partnership with patients and community to improve these elements
