The BIG Community Check campaign launched in November 2020, and aims to encourage and inspire our local community to take responsibility for checking in on people who live alone or with little support.
Developed and led by Age UK Wirral, the campaign will provide tools, tips and good news stories on how to support neighbours, friends and family in a meaningful way and how to fit this into a busy life. Any one of any age can make a difference and sometimes the little gestures are the ones that mean the most.
Age UK Wirral will be posting information on their website and social media platforms for people to access and share, including top tips from staff within the organisation and other organisations such as Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. They will also be distributing a set of check-in postcards to individuals who would like to use them to touch base with neighbours or family.
If you’d like to participate in this campaign, or would like a supply of postcards please do get in touch with [email protected] . Please also share the social media posts so that we can reach people from all parts of the and showcase all the great interventions going on across our Borough.
