Updates provided by Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH).
Engagements
The UECUP Team attended the Healthwatch BRIDGE Forum to present the plans for the programme to community groups and offer the opportunity for feedback.
A stall was held in reception at Arrowe Park Hospital by the UECUP Team and contractors Tilbury Douglas to speak to staff and members of the public, show the plans and offer the opportunity for the public and staff to offer feedback on the project.
Progress
A beam signing event was held, marking a huge milestone in the project. The Executive Team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) attended to sign the beam, along with the UECUP Team, WUTH staff, volunteers, key partners including Wirral Community Health and Care Trust (WCHC), and contractors Tilbury Douglas.
Janelle Holmes, Chief Executive at WUTH and Mark Greatrex, Chief Finance Officer at WCHC, also added their signatures to the beam. This was the final beam that was installed on the frame of the structure and will form part of the permanent fabric of the building.
An updated version of the wayfinding strategy has been presented to each of the workstreams and members have had the opportunity to give feedback.
As part of Build UK’s Open Doors event in March Tilbury Douglas also invited more than 60 students from Liverpool John Moores University to the site for a behind the scenes look at careers in construction.
Next Steps
The walls of the new build have now been installed and people will start to see the building taking shape.
