RASA (Rape and Sexual Abuse Support) Merseyside is running a programme of events for Sexual Violence Awareness Week, 6th-10th February.

Daily 6th-10th Feb
During Sexual Violence Awareness week, we are going to be hosting RASA Virtual Drop-ins every day. There will be a session for professionals and one for the general public. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions in relation to sexual violence or find out more about what we do. - 11.30-12.30 – Yoga
Helen will be running a 60 minute yoga class focusing on poses that promote a sense of strength and empowerment. The session will conclude with a relaxation focusing on releasing tension from the body. This session is limited to 5 places.

BANNERS WORKSHOP AT RASA CENTRE, ROOM 9
Come and join Lorraine, Lisa and Emma as we make banners/plaques for the Million Women Rise march (which will be in London Saturday March 4th). THINK EMPOWERMENT, JUSTICE, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! END SEXUAL VIOLENCE! If you have something to say on the matter, do not sit in silence, we want to make a powerful statement, bring your own materials although some bits and bobs will be provided and refreshments. It will be a afternoon of fun in a supportive environment

This session provides important information for professional working with clients who are involved in the criminal justice process.

Jan is hosting a session of deep relaxation to help teenagers who are experiencing anxiety. Clinical hypnotherapy is a deep state of relaxation, during the session you will learn ways to cope with and control anxiety.

- 9.30-10.30am – Responding to disclosures
This training workshop is specifically for services that are looking to support survivors appropriately, gaining an understanding with regards to what sexual violence is, how it impacts the individual and how they may present due to their experiences and best practice with how to respond to any disclosures made. This training has been delivered to various services including Universities, Social Services, NHS and other support services, the training provides an overview of the following:
- What is Sexual Violence
- The barriers to disclosure
- Responding to Disclosure
- Impact of Sexual Violence
- Window of Tolerance
- Impact on the worker / Self Care
