North West Ambulance Service – Community Conversations across Cheshire and Merseyside
News Newsletter - 26 January 2023
People living and working in Cheshire and Merseyside are invited by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) to share their views and experiences of the 999 emergency ambulance and NHS 111 services as part of a conversation with the community. Read on for more details about the events from NWAS.
Whether you’re an interested member of the public, NHS professional, carer, patient, student or healthcare champion, we want to listen to and learn from you. We are hosting a series of events across the five counties of the North West (Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cumbria and Lancashire) to capture feedback from people who use our services.
During the Covid-19 pandemic and throughout our recovery, we have been forced to change rapidly to give patients the best care. Our determined staff continue to care compassionately for Cheshire’s residents whilst the NHS faces ongoing challenges, particularly with hospital handover delays.
Last year, we launched a new strategy that outlined how, over the next three years, we will provide high-quality inclusive care, be a brilliant place to work for all, and work together with staff, patients and partners to build a better future. There is a clear commitment to revisit the basics, make improvements on the things that matter most to patients and staff, whilst striving for excellence.
With this in mind, we are checking in with people in our communities to discuss how effectively we deliver our 999 and 111 services, ensuring we have the right resources in the right place at the right time, to perform to the high standards our patients expect.
Those who attend our events will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet with various NWAS staff members including leads for various service lines such as PES and NHS111. You will have the chance to speak with our careers team too about the opportunities that are available to you. There will be fun and interactive activities for you to take part in, where you will also have the opportunity to share your own personal feedback with us.
