Healthwatch Wirral Update – December 2023
News - 15 January 2024
In December Healthwatch Wirral have continued to use our #Spare5 approach to listen, connect and support Wirral residents. This has included 651 community interactions helping local people get the best out of their local health and social care services. Offering up-to-date information, advice and guidance. Through this we have been able to gather more feedback on health, treatment and care experiences which contributes to the picture provided by Healthwatch Wirral’s Feedback Centre.
We work with Wirral’s Health and Care System to improve their knowledge of local services, connectivity and to highlight people’s experiences of using health and care services. Making sure that people who plan and provide local health and social care services are listening to your views.
The last Healthwatch BRIDGE Forum of 2024 was extremely well attended by over 38 representatives from across Health, social care and community. Offering a great opportunity to all involved to receive & give information and provide time to listen, share and connect.
Healthwatch Wirral has been working with Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to #Spare5 & support the distribution of reconditioned iPads for use in the community.
150 iPads have now been handed out to 10 separate diverse Community Groups and organisations who came forward.
The iPads will make a big difference and will be used to support digital inclusion, improved access, helping with health literacy and connections to important information sources & sites like Wirral infoBank, Family Toolbox etc.
The Healthwatch team attended Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Engagement Event at St Catherine’s Health Centre.
It was a great opportunity to talk to members the public & staff and connect them with services and support across our community.
Celebrating Healthwatch Volunteers
We had over 20 in attendance at our Healthwatch Volunteer celebration. All Healthwatch Volunteers are #Spare5 Champions.
All were awarded certificates and thanks for their contributions to their local community.
