Routine and urgent blood tests
From Monday 4 September the phlebotomy (blood test) clinic at Arrowe Park Hospital will become an appointment only service and will move to Park Suite.
If your GP has referred you for a blood test, you can go to any of the following clinics:
St Catherine’s Health Centre, 1st floor (drop-in service)
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Victoria Central Health Centre (drop in service)
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Eastham Clinic (drop in service)
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Arrowe Park Hospital, Park Suite (booked appointment only)
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:45pm
West Kirby Health Centre (booked appointment only)
Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 12noon
Friday – 8.30am – 12noon and 1:30pm – 4:30pm
If you want to use the drop-in clinics, we recommend that you arrive in clinic before 3.30pm. If you arrive later, you may not be seen. Please be aware that because this is a drop-in service, some times of day are busier than others. Most patients are still seen within 30 minutes (April – August 2017

Your GP will tell you if there are any specific instructions you need to follow before your test. It is important to follow the instructions as it may affect the result of the test if you don’t.
Appointments for Glucose Tolerance Tests
If you have been referred for a Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) you can call the Centralised Booking Service on 0151 514 2222 and request a timeslot at any of the above clinics which suits your circumstances.
Home visits for housebound patients
If you are housebound, your GP can arrange for you to have an appointment at home. Please discuss with them if this is something you feel you will need.
