FULL MINUTES: January 2023 notes
Mike Chantler – NHS Cheshire and Merseyside – Integrated Care Board update
- The NHS is under its worst pressure ever due to multiple factors including COVID and flu, ongoing workforce issues and industrial action
- There is a national and regional command centre for responding to industrial action to reduce risk/potential harm to patients
- NHS Cheshire and Merseyside is working to set up Place Partnership arrangements to ensure an equal role for the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector
- Next stages will involve looking at neighbourhood level place-based care and focusing on public health/leading healthier lives
Yunus Mogra – NWAS – Ambulance service update
- Ambulance service has also been under intense pressure including 3 rounds of industrial action
- Call numbers dropped dramatically on strike days which enabled 99% of calls to be answered within 5 seconds – can we harness public understanding of where to call outside these periods to keep 999 free for emergencies?
- NWAS is hosting Community Conversations across Cheshire and Merseyside – opportunity to speak to members of the ambulance service and give direct feedback – booking via Eventbrite:
